We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children
We are delighted to announce that one of our own learners, Lameck Kipchirchir, has been selected to take part in AFEW Kenya’s prestigious 2026 Primary School Winners Camping Safari.
Lameck earned this honour as a 2026 Winner of the Environmental Awareness Competition. The fully paid, seven-day educational safari is organised and sponsored by AFEW Kenya – Giraffe Centre. It brings together top primary school winners from across the country for an unforgettable experience focused on environment and wildlife conservation.
Safari Details
Dates: 8th – 15th November 2026
Destinations:
1Buffalo Springs Reserve & Ol Pejeta Conservancy: Samburu and Nanyuki
2Lake Nakuru Conservation Area: Nakuru National Park
3Maasai Mara Reserve: The 7th wonder of the world - greater Mara National Researve
During the week, Lameck will explore some of Kenya’s most iconic wildlife destinations while deepening his understanding of conservation. As the saying goes, “We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children.” This safari is a powerful opportunity for young leaders like Lameck to become active stewards of our natural heritage.
Lameck emerged as 2nd Runner-Up in the essay category with his thought-provoking piece titled, "Why We Need to Conserve Our Environment." In his essay, he eloquently highlighted why conservation matters, including:
1Protecting biodiversity – Every living creature, from the smallest insect to the largest elephant, plays a vital role in maintaining a healthy ecosystem. Losing even one species can upset the delicate balance of nature.
2Securing our future – Conserving forests, water sources, and wildlife ensures that future generations will have clean air, fresh water, and a thriving planet to call home.
We extend our sincere gratitude to AFEW Kenya for organising this meaningful safari and for giving young learners a platform to experience environmental conservation. We also thank them for recognising and nurturing the talents of our students
The school community is extremely proud of Lameck’s achievement. His selection reflects the hard work, curiosity, and commitment to environmental care that we nurture at Keneni Stars Academy.
Congratulations, Lameck!
You have made us all shine.
